Joyeux Noël et bonne année 2008! / Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Business as usual.

---------------

For the very first time in my life I'll be working on a December 25th. Christmas might be celebrated in Japan but it's not a holiday. Actually I can't even feel the Christmas spirit. You can find houses here and there with colorful decorations but I can count them with one hand. Maybe it's the lack of snow? How different it is with what is going on in North America at this time of the year. It's like I woke up one day and then someone informed me it was Christmas. And... that's it. Business as usual. There are parties going on in the companies, such a the Bonenkai (year end party) but it's just not the same.

Nevertheless a huge surprise was awaiting for me upon my arrival back home on Christmas Eve: My wife had prepared poutine for dinner! Yesery Bob, the best in town and from now on I shall be calling it the Edogawa Poutine. Up until now the main problem was to find a suitable cheese. Well I'm glad to officially announce the problem has now been solved. As for the sauce mix, I've got a loyal supplier in Montreal looking out for me. Now that's what I call teamwork. Anyway I've got a feeling some people here in Japan are going to be jealous. Don't worry folks, we'll have a party during the hockey playoffs (let's start praying for the Habs). Meanwhile, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2008!
