Daiya & Hana Ferris Wheel At Night

La grande roue Daiya Hana (diamands et fleurs) est un véritable point de référence au sud de l'arrondissement, surtout la nuit. Grâce à ses 117 mètres de hauteur on peut la voir de très loin. Difficile aussi de la manquer pour les automobilistes qui circulent sur l'autoroute Wangan (qui sépare Rinkai Cho et le parc Kasai rinkai). Moi ce qui me fascine c'est lorsque je l'observe à partir des lieux près du stade Edogawa (sud ouest de l'arrondissement). La nuit cet endroit est fantomatique. Avec les terrains vacants autour, les autoroutes surélevées, les buissons non taillés, les déchets qui traînent ici et là, ça ressemble à un genre de no man's land. Je passe des fois par là lorsque je retourne à la maison, question de faire changement. Puis il y a la roue au loin. Je ne sais pas, ça fait bizarre.

The big Daiya and Hana (diamonds and flowers) ferris wheel is one noticeable reference point at the south of the borough, especially nighttime. You just can't miss it, especially if you're driving on the Wangan highway. Standing high at 117 meters it can be seen from afar, even western Tokyo. I find watching the Daiya Hana wheel from the Edogawa track & field stadium at night is one strange experience. When the sun goes down the Rinkai cho 1 chome area is a very quiet place: vacant lands around-you don't see that often around here, the shadows of the elevated highways nearby, overgrown grasses and bushes, litter-more than elsewhere, and the occasional cars. Then all of a sudden you have that colorful ferris wheel flashing it’s lights, standing silently, marking some promise land or something. I don’t know I just feel strange. I’ll grant you I do get carry away with my imagination sometimes.

A noter que l'animation colorée de la roue se termine à 23:00 (la roue est éclairée en vert le restant de la nuit). J'en sais quelque chose puisque ma première tentative de filmer la roue la nuit fut un échec... J'avais commencé à filmer à 22:58! Heureusement que j'habite pas trop loin. J'ai déjà 3 tours de roue à mon actif. Je compte y retourner pour faire une vidéo de l'intérieur la prochaine fois. Peut-être en janvier lorsque le ciel sera clair avec le mont Fuji en prime? En passant si la roue apparaît ovale sur la deuxième partie de la vidéo c'est parce que ça été filmé avec une caméra Handycam de Sony et les fichier MPEG me donnent du fil à retordre.

The ferris wheel’s colorful animation comes to an end at 11:00PM every night. The rest of the night it’s lighten up in green (like in the first few seconds of the youtube video). I know that for a fact thanks to my first attempt to film the wheel at night. Yes, I remember so well. It was 10:58. Nice job captain. The good news is I live near this attraction so it wasn't a big deal to go back. So far I’ve ridden the wheel 3 times and I’m planning to go back to shoot a video from inside a cabin. How about in January with clear skies and mount Fuji in the background? Sweet. By the way, if the wheel looks it's like not completely round on the second part of my youtube video that’s because it was filmed using a Sony Handycam. I’m really not a big fan of the MPEG format.

Moi aussi j'ai songé de mettre un truc plus nostalique au début. Puis, j'ai eu un flash et j'ai pensé à cette musique deep house que j'écoutais au début des années 2000 (Atmosphrique mixé par Jesper Dahlback-Stockholm Mix Sessions 2). C'ets vrai que l'animation de la roue va à merveille avec la musique, comme un puzzle!

Excellente video. La musique va parfaitement avec l'illumination de la roue. J'adore! Je verrai bien ca sur ecran geant en discotheque!
A priori, j'aurai d'abord mis du Air par pure nostalgie (genre lost in translation) mais je prefere en fait ce cote disco.
